Reference:    (a)  ComAirPac Rest. ltr. A4-1/L7-1/N33 FF12-5/50-Pe Serial 2662 dated 25 July 1943 with enclosure BuAer ltr. Aer-Ma-320-LDG N33, Serial 110882, dated 17 July 1943.
(b) BuAer Conf. desp. 201545 of October 1943.

   1.         The following new allowances of automotive equipment for aircraft carriers were approved by reference (b) and supersede those established by the enclosure forwarded with reference (a):

Tractors    Jeeps

CVE  - - - - - - - - - - -    3   2

   2.        The Bureau of Aeronautics has stated that the pools of this equipment on the West Coast which were established in accordance with reference (a) will be augmented in proportion to the foregoing increases in allowances. Action is also being taken by the Bureau to ship a limited number of tractors and jeeps to the Naval Air Station, Pearl Harbor to provide replacements and complete the allowances of aircraft carriers in the Hawaiian Area. Reference (a) prescribes procedure for issuing and accounting for automotive equipment assigned from these pools.

   3.        The type of tractor which has been requested and is understood to be under procurement for this purpose is Fordson Tractor Model B-25, Moto-Tug, manufactured by Harry Ferguson, Inc.
