References:    (a)  BuShips Conf. ltr. C-S19-1(1)(DYr)(SM) EN28/A2-11 of April 29, 1941.
(b) BuShips conf. ltr S19-7(341) dated July 30, 1941

         1.    A requisition was submitted on August 7, 1941, to fill paint allowance in accordance with reference (a). This requisition was returned by Mare Island Navy Yard, with the information that the manufacturer of paints requisitioned had been discontinued in accordance with reference (b). It was suggested that this vessel submit requisitions for paints to produce the desired amounts of haze-gray, ocean-gray, and sea-blue paints.

         2.    Since no instructions have been received regarding changes in outside gray painting, a directive is requested on paints to be carried.
