1. The Bureau of Ships by reference (a) distributed a supplement to Second Revision, Ships-2, containing three pattern camouflage measures, 31, 32 and 33. 2. Enclosure (A), forwarded under separate cover, is a set of working drawings for application of Measure 32 to the subject vessel. The symbols employed on the drawings show the colors of paint to be used in the indicated areas. 5-L = Light grey. Paints are to be mixed in accordance with Table I, reference (a). Areas to be countershaded in white are also marked out on separate drawings. 3. As an experimental application, it is requested that the Navy Yard accomplish the painting of the subject vessels during the current availability in general accordance with enclosure (A). 4. A Bureau of Ships representative, now attached to the Fleet Maintenance Office, will be available for consultation and technical assistance in the accomplishment of painting as requested. It is desired that the Commander Service Force, Pacific Fleet (Fleet Maintenance Office) be notified when the work is to commence in order that the Bureau representative may be present.
