From: Commander-in-Chief, United States Pacific Fleet
To  : PACIFIC FLEET
 
Subject: Painting of Insignia on Ships.
 
Reference: (a) Cincus conf. ltr. S19/(0457) of 27 March 1941.

1.Paragraph 1 of the reference requires that special ship insignia be omitted. Also, a number of individual ships have been instructed to that effect by the forwarding endorsement of the Commander-in-Chief on awards of Navy E's.

2.This requirement is hereby so far modified that all E's to which ships are entitled may be worn provided they are painted in such locations that they are not visible from outside the ship.

3.All insignia that are now visible from outside the ship shall be removed.
