Subj:   Low Visibility #37 Gray Paint - Test No. 6042.
 
Ref: (a) COMDT NYPHIL ltr L5-2( 5042)(C-3B-P) of 15 NOV. 1944.
(b) BuShips ltr S19-(7)(336) of 12 Nov. 1944.

1.     In response to the recommendation in reference (a), the Bureau approves the mixing formula and color chips for the subjeot paint as a temporary measure until more detailed requirements can be furnished for a revision of the light gray paint specification, 52P52, as contemplated by reference (b).

2.     The information in reference (a) will be sent to the paint manufacturing yards for guidance in making the neutral gray paints from mixtures of white and black paints.
