     1.     Following the informal conference with Type Commanders, the following vessels of the Battle Force are designated to comply with the requirements of Enclosure (A):

TENNESSEE, SARATOGA, HELENA, FARRAGUT of Task Force One;

NEVADA, ENTERPRISE, JARVIS of Task Force Two;

LEXINGTON, FLUSSER of Task Force Three.

     2.     Aircraft carriers will disregard instructions contained in reference (a) with respect to painting of decks in view of the Bureau of Ships present experimental deck painting program for aircraft carriers.

     3.     Inasmuch as Destroyer Division NINE has been painted in experimentals paints in accordance with reference (b), it is requested Commander Destroyers, Battle Force, direct such destroyers to adopt the additional measures in Enclosure (A).

     4.     Pending the issue of Bue Deck Paint, Formula 20B, addressees are authorized to use the substitute described in Enclosure (B).  In view of the short tine available before reports are required, early application of the measures described in Enclosure (A) is essential.

     5.     Information addressees other than the Commander-in-Chief, United States Pacific Fleet, are requested, to disseminate the information herein to the forces under their commands.  This is in compliance with paragraphs five and six of reference (b).
