PACIFIC FLEET CONFIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM 3CM-43

From: Commander in Chief, United States Pacific Fleet.
To: PACIFIC FLEET.
 
SUBJECT:     Camouflage Painting of Ships.
 
References: (a)  Pacific Fleet Confidential Memorandum 34CM-42 of September 15, 1942.

1.        Reference (a) is amended to include the following camouflage measure:

"Tropic Green System"

          Paint all outside surfaces, vertical, horizontal and sloping, with a base coat composed of five (5) parts zinc chromate primer, Formula 84, and four (4) parts tinting paste, Formula 5TMa. Apply mottling patches and streaks of a mixture composed of five (5) parts zinc chromate primer, Formula 84, and two (2) parts tinting paste, Formula 5TMa.

2.       This measure is hereby placed in effect for ships of the following classes assigned to the South Pacific Force and for such other ships as the Commander South Pacific Force may direct: APD's, APC's, LCI's, LCT's, YFD's, ARD's.
