SUBJECT: Camouflage Measures for CV, CVB, CVL, and CVE Vessels
 
REFERENCES:    (a)  ComAirPac conf. ltr. FF12-5/S19/7/L9

Enclosures: (A) Copy of reference (a).

     1.       For subject vessels now attached to the Pacific Fleet, camouflage Measures indicated in reference (a) will be applied at first availability.

     2.       For subject vessels now building, the Bureau will direct building yards to apply the Measures indicated in reference (a).

     3.       For the convenience of commanding officers and camouflage officers at accomplishing activities, camouflage Measure 12 as specified by ComServPac, consists of Navy blue (5-N) color on the hull from the water line to a horizontal line at the level of the hangar deck, ocean gray color above that line and including the superstructure, deck blue (20-G (probably a typo; 20-B was deck blue) and flight deck stain) on all horizontal surfaces. All open gun-tubs inside and out, are to be painted to blend with their background as viewed from the air. Camouflage Measure 21 consists of an overall color Navy blue (5-N) with horizontal surfaces painted deck blue (20-G (also probably a typo) and flight deck stain).
