USS Arizona was the second of the Pennsylvania-class battleships. She was commissioned in 1916 and modernized in 1931. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1942, she was moored just off Ford Island in Pearl Harbor with the repair ship Vestal outboard. Two bombs struck her in the opening minutes of the attack - the first causing only superficial damage, but the second ignited her forward magazines and destroyed the ship and over 1,100 of her crew.

She remains entombed in the mud in Pearl Harbor to this day, a visible remembrance to the attack and war.
